Terrain Workshop is seeking a Project Manager to support the construction sales process from initial lead to the close of the sale and then oversees our construction projects from preconstruction tasks to final punchlist and follow-up, and is the direct liaison between the client and the Terrain Workshop team through the entire process.
Strategic Work:
1. Communicate core values and unique selling points about Terrain Workshop to prospective clients and related networks.
2. Core focus on business development, sales and company growth targets.
3. Maintain a positive, engaged relationship with client and related industry partners such as builders, architects, interior designers who are also working on the project.
4. Provide support to the superintendent to solve construction related problems as they arise, while staying in constant communication with the design team.
Job Responsibilities
1. Support the sales process from when the lead is received, until the job is sold. Carry responsibility for the execution of the project in the construction phase, facilitating the project set up until the punch list.
• Create project proposals and estimates for upcoming work
• Present project proposals and perform sales related tasks for new client opportunities
• Suggest design modifications as needed to facilitate client budget needs
• Project setup: perform required new project tasks to get the team onboarded. Host project kick off meeting with client and project pre-con meeting with construction and design team.
• Evenings and weekend client meetings as needed to facilitate sales and address urgent matters as they arise.
2. Office work:
• Maintain a balance of 70% office and 30% field
• Communicate schedule and job status to Terrain Workshop team, client, and Builder with weekly status emails
• Review incoming invoices and project receipts, compare to bids and approve for payment as needed
• Maintain accurate records in project management software as it relates to budget, invoicing, change orders, schedule, etc.
• Review and approve project P&L’s
• Solicit client reviews and testimonials at the conclusion of the project
• Attend weekly construction meetings
3. Lead out and manage construction process with a focus on both speed and quality:
• Onboard the Terrain Workshop team with required new project tasks.
• Host project kick off meeting with client and pre-construction meeting with design and construction team
• Manage design scope and change order process
• Physically inspect all field work to ensure design intent is realized and workmanship meets company standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction related field desired, or a combination of similar education and experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in pool, landscape, or hardscape construction
Knowledge of proper construction techniques, building materials and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Proven ability to manage several projects at a time while adjusting to shifting priorities, demands and timelines
